Parker Variant Adjustable Safety Razor - Satin Chrome

Glad I purchased this razor. It suits my beard and technique perfectly. I have gotten 1st. rate shaves from it every time. Very happy with the purchase!

Received this Magnificent razor from Howie and all I can say is "Wow". Dropped a 7:00 black in the chamber, and there's no going back. The only issue was getting used to the difference in one of my other regulars, the Merkur 38c which seems (to me) to be a little head heavy. The Parker to me seems to have all the weight in the handle, perfectly balanced as if it had no head. One or two Nick's schooled me.

With my first shave I had a smooth no nicks or cuts experience. I can't wait for the next shave with it. Excellent quality product and design.

This razor is easily one of my favorites and it is also the easiest for me to get very close irritation free shaves with. Everything about this razor suits me. It is one of the best I use regardless of the price point, which by the way is very reasonable in this case. Buy it and you can thank me later

I ordered this razor 2 months ago back in December. And I have put it through its paces regarding shave stubble from 1 day to a week's worth. One word "FANTASTIC!" I have a Progress and it shaves great, but most who have owned one know about it's blade alignment and adjustment knob issues. No such worries here with the Parker Variant. Smooth, efficient and perfectly balanced in the hand. Good weight and feel with excellent audible feedback that let's you know it is working beautifully. Fit and finish is spot on. I can't say enough good things about this razor, but I'll finish with this. The Merkur Progress is no longer in my rotation, my brother has it. I told him get your own Variant. This one stays with me.....

I have tried various settings on my Parker Variant with Lord Super Stainless, MerkurSuper, Shark Super Chrome, Voskhod Teflon, Astra SP, and Feather blades but cannot get a smooth shave with this razor. I like the build and looks but disappointed with the results. Way too much irritation and cuts around the mouth and chin areas.

I have been shaving with a Merkur Vison razor for years and recently decided that I would like to try something new. I have never used a two piece razor, heard about this Parker Variant Adjustable Safety Razor and decided that I would give one a try. This is a great razor. I feels great in my hand and gives a great shave. I do love my Merkur Vision, but this Parker razor is a new favorite. I will likely rotate back and forth between these two razors.

What I especially appreciate about the Variant is the razor as a whole. Obviously, the ability to adjust the angle of the blade is a plus, which I will return to. But the way the razor sits in your hand, the texture of the handle and the balance of the instrument makes shaving more comfortable. Just like any other finely designed product, it feels surprisingly easy to use at first. Then the surprise seems to fade, as the ease takes over. It just feels right, like you're forgetting what you're doing, its so comfortable. The adjustable blade is an added bonus. You can literally dial in the angle that's right for you. Depending on the blade, the area of your face that you're shaving, and the sharpness of the blade, you can make minor adjustments that are actually noticeable. If you like to refine your shave with a second pass, you can make the blade more aggressive. This is just a great razor that I look forward to using every morning and am so happy to own.

This razor offers the closest, smoothest shave of the more than a dozen double-edge (DE) razors that I've owned and used. This includes classics such as my 1963 Gillette Slim Adjustable. When one considers the wide range of adjustability, heft, excellent knurling, and orientation of blade against skin, which seems to offer an uncommonly comfortable and effective shave, I honestly believe that this razor may be the best available DE on the market. If you haven't bought a DE yet, this one is likely the only one you'll ever need. If you have other DE razors, this one may be an upgrade. Over all it's a good value for the price.

Pros: works good and easy to dial in settings. Blade seems to sit equal. Handle is pretty much slip free. Cons: I don't like having to take apart the razor to insert blade. Second, when putting this next to a Merkur you can really see the quality difference in the steel.

This razor has everything you need and more for a very reasonable price. A tool everyone should have in there shave den. I get a clean and irritation free shave using this razor. Very good audio feedback. Further improves upon the quality and benchmarks set by progress. Easy to load up blades and easily cleans up. I like pairing it with Gillette 7 o clock green blades to get a very smooth shave. Love the bottom continuous dial. I got the one with all satin color. My only regret is I should have got one in each color.

This razor is everything it is made out to be.One of the best razors I have ever used.
