A hidden gem
For background, I own/use quite a few razors... from vintage Gillettes to Fatip, Rex Envoy, Timeless .68, etc. I own three Parkers, a 24c open comb, 87r TTO and this 97r. The OC is actually the mildest, then the 87r followed by the 97r being the most aggresive of the three. This one has quickly become one of my favorites. The blade has perfect alignment on assembly, no fiddling about. Blade reveal is spot on. I have fine whiskers plus old, sensitive skin and I get a super smooth shave with two passes using perma-super sharps. Skin feels great afterwards. The weight seems ideal and I prefer the shorter handles like this classic. The plating on mine was unblemished and I consider the 97r a bargain for the asking price. I love this razor, just wish it had a barber pole handle but that's just personal preference in the looks department and a mere nitpick.

Great razor
This razor is a steal for the money. More aggressive than the Merkur line and shaves better than the Razorocks line. 12th DE I own and could easily see it being my favorite.

Close!
I have the Edwin Jagger DE86 and it is a fine razor but wanted something that was a bit more aggressive. I also have the parker A1R for travel and liked how close that got to my face so I decided to try another parker and I saw this one for cheap on flea bay so I gave it a chance since many people stated it was aggressive. WOW, it does get close with my go to persona blue blades and it has quite a bit of heft compared to the DE86 and it looks nice too. I'm not a fan of chrome and shiny pieces but it definitely works on this fine piece of shaving equipment. If you want something close, give it a try, if you want something for a beginner, you should probably look over this one for now and get it once you're ready to get closer.
